Dear Friend,
I'm sorry. They are so wrong. Wrong about you. Wrong about them. Wrong about themselves. I'm just sorry. I know that doesn't change the hurt. For you or for yours. But don't let their voices drown out the reality you're creating. Remember you are striving for the real, and not what appears to be real. It is so much more difficult. It is so much more fragile. It is so much more beautiful. And it is so much more you. For what it's worth, I love you. I've seen your reality. And I am all in. I'm not much for suspended disbelief, and that's what it would take to buy into what they're selling. You'd have to suspend your belief that they were imperfect parents. You'd have to suspend your belief that they knew better than you. You'd have to suspend your disbelief that they truly had your best interest at heart. It is one thing to walk through the mud. It is quite another to whip up so much imagination that the mud is suspended before our eyes, and another person's reality-- things we know to be quite false-- we actually take energy to believe. I get it. But I'm sorry. Because that tells me how much you're hurting. And I hurt for you.
thus spake,
me.
thus spake,
me.
