Is it really that difficult?

Dear Friend,
I love you. And I'm trying my best to listen. Can I just ask a question. Is it really as difficult as you want it to be?
I know you prize intellect. And thought. And theories. And maybe even conspiracies. OK. Hidden truths. But step back from that just one moment. All the time we make fun of "dumbing things down" don't we. And yet. Jesus. That guy. "Unless you change and become like little children you cannot enter the kingdom of God." That's pretty specific.
What would faith look like if it was that simple? Jesus loves me. Jesus dies for me so I can be different. Jesus rises so I can be with him forever. Jesus tells me I'm supposed to love others because he loved me.
I know. The Illuminati are out of business. Sermons get mighty short. But maybe, if we were simpler, and we made it simpler for others, more people would see Jesus instead of our complex formulas. And so would we. And at the end of the day, isn't that what we all need-- to see more of Jesus? I think you and I would agree on that.
