I'm finally started over, after starting over starting over, with a commitment to finishing this project. For the next 365 days, I'm writing a different letter to someone I love, each day. They're written with specific people in mind, but hopefully general enough that they speak to you, too. In fact, you may find more than one letter written for you. It's also very possible that you might think the letter is written for you, when it isn't. You might be sure it's written at you, even when it's not. My hope is that each letter is a blessing to at least one.
At one point, I'd planned on writing a book, with the working title Advice You Didn't Ask For, and Hopefully Don't Need. But you don't need my advice. There are so many people who are so much smarter and their advice is so much better. And at the end of the day, my advice is not the most important thing I can give. Never doubt that I love you. Two kidneys worth of love. If you need them both, they're both available. If you need a liver, you need to make a different friend.
These love letters are just that. They're written so that you never wonder about the full force of my love. They're written so that you know I'm all in on you. They're written so that you know that I'm always in your corner. No matter what. No matter where your path lies. No matter if you lie. No matter who you lie with. I. Love. You.
Please don't misunderstand. I'm not out to fix you. I have no need to change you. These letters are motivated by Mercy, and there's no expectation of response. I love you. The rest is just words.
Thus spake,
me
