Perspective can be important. And sometimes completely wrong.

Dear friend,

If you were eavesdropping on a conversation with another friend, you'd have heard that this statue was commissioned in the middle of a battle between an artist. Yes. Over appropriate penis size. I guess it came down to excommunication or the withdrawal of payment for services rendered, because the artist relented, and gave into the Bishop's desires for a smaller peen (ostensibly to save the local ladies from any un-confessed lusts when leaving worship).

Or so it seemed. Because if you stand behind the statue, you see this "forced perspective" instead. And it appears, for all intents and purposes, that the artist had the last laugh. Or gave the ladies (and gentlemen) coming to worship some new sins to process on their way into the building. Spoiler alert -- It's actually Neptune's giant hand, stretched out just so. It's just a perfect picture of when the perspective we're forced into is horribly wrong.

Sweetheart, why do I write this? Because I love you. And on this thing you're looking at... this battle you're in... this particular moment you're passionate about... you've been forced into a perspective that isn't accurate at all. And I love you more than I love our relationship. Enough to risk telling you you need to look again. Move. Change your view. Because this giant you've embraced is ridiculously small. And is going to be highly unsatisfying. Your eyes-- or your heart-- or your brain-- may lie to you from time to time. This is one of those times. You're standing in the wrong place for the correct perspective. And its time to move on.
